Tales of the Highway Patrol

California Highway Patrol agreed to $4.5 million for a woman accusing former officer Xavier Aguirre of sexual assault. Aguirre stopped the SUV carrying the woman. Aguirre stopped his patrol car’s dashcam and directed the woman towards the SUV’s back. She claimed that he had groped her breasts, genitalia and under pretense of frisking. Investigators later learned that Aguirre turned off the dashcam in his patrol car and directed the woman to the back of the SUV. She claimed that he groped her breasts and genitalia under pretense of frisking her. Later that night, he returned to her home and attacked her yet again. A police investigation revealed that he had used databases from law enforcement to locate her house and arrived at it. Aguirre was terminated, but the Orange County prosecutor’s office refused to press charges against him. Aguirre denied wrongdoing.
