Attendees at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Florida burst into cheers when Governor Ron DeSantis announced his idea to send illegal immigrants to President Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.
This idea was born out of federal efforts to illegally route immigrants to Florida.
“Since I became governor, we banned sanctuary cities in the state of Florida,” DeSantis declared.
“And we are in the process of getting money from the state legislature so that if Biden is dumping illegal aliens into Florida from the southern border, I’m rerouting them to Delaware.”
This line proved to be a huge crowd pleaser.

DeSantis sends illegal immigrants to Delaware
In an ideal nation, one that secures its own borders and takes immigration laws seriously, DeSantis wouldn’t have to reroute illegal immigrants to Delaware.
Border Control and federal government will redirect them outside the country, until they complete the appropriate process.

But this could be the next best approach – sending them to blue states, sanctuary states, where Democrats and their voters will have to accept the consequences.
The idea isn’t brand new – DeSantis first posited such a response back in November of 2021.

DeSantis claimed months ago that the Biden administration was conducting “clandestine” flights of illegal immigrants into the Sunshine State.
“Here’s what happens with these flights. There’s no notification to the state of Florida. They are usually done in the middle hours of the night. And it’s clandestine,” he said at a press conference.

Moving to the US
There were reports in October that the Biden Administration was transporting illegal immigrants by planeloads to New York from Texas in order to resettle them in the region.
In an op-ed column addressing the story, the New York Post editorial board accused President Biden of “playing a deadly game using secret flights to move migrants.”
According to some reports, these flights would also go to Florida.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki defended the actions being taken, saying it should be “no surprise” they’re doing it.

A police video capturing illegal immigrants flying by federal contractors to New York’s airport at night was released in January.
The video shows federal contractors explaining to a police officer in charge of security at the facility that the illegal immigrant flights, which have reportedly been conducted at the Westchester County Airport since August, are to be “on the down-low.”
“The government is betraying the American people,” one contractor can be heard telling a police officer.

Governor DeSantis threatened to allow illegal immigrants into Delaware at some point in the future.
“If they’re going to come here, we’ll provide buses,” DeSantis said back in November. “I will send them to Delaware and do that.”
“If he’s [Biden] not going to support the border being secure, then he should be able to have everyone there,” he added.

Florida joined an international lawsuit filed against Biden’s administration over the reinstatement of an Obama-era program that allowed illegal immigrants to remain and enter the United States.
