What is an MRI? 

MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. MRI is a diagnostic medical test that uses a powerful magnetic field, radio wave pulses and a computer to produce detailed pictures of the inside of the body. The MRI scanner is a large doughnut-shaped machine that surrounds the patient with powerful magnetic fields while radio waves are directed at specific areas of the body.
