How Does an MRI Chiller Work?

What is an MRI?

MRI stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. MRI is a diagnostic medical test that uses a powerful magnetic field, radio wave pulses and a computer to produce detailed pictures of the inside of the body. The MRI scanner is a large doughnut-shaped machine that surrounds the patient with powerful magnetic fields while radio waves are directed at specific areas of the body. MRI images can be used to diagnose a variety of diseases. MRI images are more clear and detailed than X-ray or CT images, which makes MRI ideal for examining the brain, spine, joints and soft tissues like muscles and tendons.

How Does an MRI Chiller Work?

MRI chiller is an essential machine that helps MRI machines function at their best. MRI machines produce extremely powerful magnetic fields. MRI chiller is the device that cools down MRI magnets while the MRI machine itself produces heat. MRI Chillers work by condensing MRI helium into liquid form for easy recycling and reuse.

Three Main Types of MRI Chiller Technologies:

Air-cooled MRI Chiller

MRI air cooled chiller systems are used in MRI machines that produce less than 10 kilowatts of power. MRI Air-cooled chillers work by directing MRI helium gas to a cooling tower where the gas is cooled down and recycled back into the MRI system for reuse. MRI Air-cooled chillers have an MRI cooling tower, MRI helium recovery system and MRI fan. MRI Air-cooled chillers can be used in MRI systems that produce less than 10 kilowatts of power.

Water-cooled MRI Chiller

MRI water cooled chiller systems are used in MRI machines that produce more than 10 kilowatts of power. MRI water cooled chillers work by directing MRI helium gas to a cooling tower where the gas is cooled down and recycled back into the MRI system for reuse. The MRI chiller has an MRI cooling tower, MRI helium recovery system and MRI fan. MRI Water-cooled chillers can be used in MRI systems that produce more than 10 kilowatts of power.

Helium-cooled MRI Chiller

MRI helium cooled chillers are the most efficient MRI chiller technology. MRI helium cooled chillers work by directing MRI helium gas to a cooling tower where the MRI gasses expand and escape from the MRI system as a single stream to get cooled down in the cooling tower. MRI Helium-cooled chillers have MRI cooling tower, MRI helium recovery system and MRI fan. MRI Helium-cooled chillers are the most efficient MRI chiller technology available in the market today.

In conclusion, an MRI chiller is an essential MRI machine equipment to produce the best MRI images. MRI chiller cools magnets and helium gas used in MRI systems. MRI air cooled chillers are used for MRI machines that produce less than 10 kilowatts of power, MRI water-cooled chillers are used for MRI machines that produce more than 10 kilowatts of power and MRI helium-cooled chillers are the most efficient MRI chiller technology available in market today.
