Stephen Halbrook Guest-Blogging About the Second Amendment and Public Carry of Firearms – Reason.com

It’s a pleasure to announce that Stephen Halbrook (a prominent firearms lawyer and scholar) will guest blog this week on the Second Amendment right of bear arms. N.Y. State Rifle & Pistol Ass’n v. BruenThe Supreme Court is currently considering the appeal. Halbrook has written over 30 law review articles and  several books on the Second Amendment and firearms law more broadly, including, most recently, The right to bear arms: A constitutional right of the people or a privilege of the ruling class?These works were cited in over 20 cases and 500 articles of law review.

He is also a frequent litigator in this field. His clients include the NRA and the National African American Gun Association. His arguments have been heard before the U.S. Supreme Court. Castillo v.
