Langfang, a Chinese city, ordered that all indoor pets of COVID-19 sufferers in one area be killed. It was eventually canceled, although it is not known how many pets were slaughtered. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, China has maintained a zero COVID policy. The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention states that pets may be able to contract COVID-19, but there’s very little risk of it spreading to humans.
