CNN Correspondent Suggests Questioning SCOTUS Nominee’s Record Endangers Her Life

CNN White House correspondent John Harwood may be wishing Twitter had an “undo” option. Harwood received a lot of criticism on Thursday for repeating the outrageous remarks made by an MSNBC guest last weekend.

Americans are currently watching the Senate confirmation hearings to confirm Judge Ketanji brown Jackson as Supreme Court nominee. Jackson was quizzed by Republican Senators about her history of giving light sentences in child pornography cases to those who were convicted.

Harwood decided to offer up his opinion that this basic due diligence of someone who could sit on the nation’s highest court for a lifetime appointment was endangering her life.

Last weekend, far-left journalist for The Nation, Elie Mystal, said on MSNBC that Republicans were trying to get Jackson “killed.”

Mystal told Tiffany Cross, without evidence, “What Josh Hawley is doing, let’s let’s be very clear, what Josh Hawley is doing when he tries to do this, is he’s trying to get her killed. He is trying to get violence done against a Supreme Court nominee.”

People wasted no time calling out Harwood’s comments.

Numerous users noted that Steve Scalise almost died after an Bernie Sanders fan opened fire on a Republican baseball game and had a long list of targets.

This is not the first instance of GOP being implicated

It’s not the first instance that Democrats suggest that Republicans do not want to harm people they don’t agree with but inflict severe bodily injury on or kill them.

After the scandal over Robinhood’s suspension of trading in Game Stop stock, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), had the temerity to join forces with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Ocasio Cortez apparently found this a trigger, recalling the violence at Capitol the week before.

She told Cruz that he and other Republicans had “tried to get her killed,” and that he could well, just save his agreement.

Memories for a Short Time

It is difficult to discern whether Democrats and left-leaning parties have short or long memories.

Scalise was not the only one arrested. In October 2018, Ronald DiRisi from New York was also charged with threat to kill 2 Senators for backing Brett Kavanaugh, then the Supreme Court nominee.

John Harwood has not yet confirmed if he is looking to use Twitter Undo.
