Republican Senate Candidate Herschel Walker Ousted From President’s Council On Sports, Fitness & Nutrition

The COVID pandemic has shown us that American citizens’ health is not only dependent on politics but also involves them. Now, President Joe Biden seems to be doubling down on this notion.

Recently, Biden asked Republican Senate candidates, former NFL running back Herschel Walker and Dr. Mehmet Oz, to step down from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition or be taken off the Council or be fired.

Playing Politics With America’s Health?

According to Dr. Oz (a Senate Candidat in Pennsylvania), he was sent a notice by the Biden administration warning him that if the council is not dissolved before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, he would have his job terminated. CNN reported that Herschel Walker was the Georgia Senate Candidate.

In a video, Dr. Oz lamented the seemingly political motivations for his removal from the council, saying, “It’s sad that he would politicize such an important issue like health. He should contact the doctor to ask for his resignation. Dr. Fauci, for a multitude of obvious reasons.”

Former President Donald Trump had Oz and Walker nominated to the Council in 2018. The White House’s excuse for demanding resignation or removal, because those on the council are considered “special government officials,” therefore they are barred from running for any federal office.

The official website of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition states, “The President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition (PCSFN) is a federal advisory committee that aims to promote healthy eating and physical activity for all Americans, regardless of background or ability.”

Others who are well-known members include Bill Belichick the Patriots’ head coach, Colby Covington, MMA fighter, and Johnny Damon, a baseball player.

Dr. Oz was clear in stating that they were going to have to expel him from the council. He added:

“Clearly, Joe Biden can’t be around anyone who doesn’t completely fall in line with his fear-mongering authoritarian one-size-fits-all COVID handling. I am proud of my service and will not resign.”

Georgia Senate Race looking good so far for Walker

Herschel Walker tweeted a statement about his expulsion from the council.

While the decision may have been disappointing for him, there are many other matters he must attend to such as the tight Senate race in Georgia.

Walker currently trails three GOP primaries candidates. The Real Clear Politics average shows him ahead by 59.7 percent. While things are tighter in the general elections, Walker holds a slim lead over incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock. It is only one point that the RCP average in this race.

Walker was also given an early endorsement by Donald Trump. This may help him to get a boost as midterm elections near. The two have been friends for a number of years, and Walker was and early supporter of Trump’s in his bid for the White House.

Herschel Walker Not Shy About His Views

Herschel is proud conservative who will never hesitate to voice his opinions. Back in September, when children of the privileged wealthy elite protested in New York City by breaking store windows over the death of a Rochester New York man while in police custody, Walker called for them all to get “federal time.”

Christian Walker, Herschel Walker’s son, proves the apple does not fall far from the tree. He is also a vocal advocate for minorities conservatives and blacks. Christian Walker scorned Black Lives Matter after George Floyd died in 2020.

“Anybody who honestly cares about black people could not support Black Lives Matter — it’s a terrorist organization, and personally I think it’s the KKK in blackface.”

Herschel Walker has called out Joe Biden before, too. Biden, the then-candidate for president in 2020, compared George Floyd with Dr. Martin Luther King.

Walker tweeted that it was too much.

Herschel and Dr. Oz called the Biden government’s decision to move in a political manner. Dr. Oz said that Joe Biden might need to reassess his priorities.
