Prof. Jonathan Turley on Blacklisting Artists for Their Political Positions

It’s an excellent post. I will give you a quick excerpt.

It is an artistic loss to the Met as well as opera. Peter Gelb, Metropolitan Opera Manager makes it seem like Anna Netrebko had died or her voice was damaged in an accident. Netrebko was terminated for refusing to condemn Vladimir Putin. As with the criminalization of support for Putin in some countries, the termination of Netrebko is an attack on free speech. The Met is ridiculing free speech as a means of fighting tyranny, which it does in a bizarre way.
