Quebec doesn’t mandate vaccination; it taxes the unvaccinated!

Quebec proposes a new law that will tax people who are not vaccinated. There is not a mandate. Canadian Civil Libertarians are concerned that the tax could be interpreted as a mandate.

Cara Zwibel is acting general counsel to the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. She said that it could violate Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms, but not if it was viewed as “a way of forcing people to get vaccinated”.

According to her, it wasn’t clear whether the tax was intended to motivate more people to get vaccinated and to help finance healthcare.

Canadian Supreme Court may follow in the footsteps of the NFIB Constructing a better future.
