University of Hong Kong is a Hong Kong public university that has taken down the Pillar of Shame. It was a statue honoring those who died in Tiananmen Square in 1989 by Chinese officials. Officials from the University of Hong Kong said that the statue was “fragile” but had been removed due to “potential safety concerns.”
