American truckers are reportedly in the final planning stages for their very own ‘freedom convoy’ to Washington, D.C. over the next couple of weeks.
Fox News reports The Great American Patriot Project has been actively seeking truckers to become part of its convoy. The project is planning routes that will generate from Fresno (California) and Cleveland, Ohio.
The group is also seeking contributions and volunteers for the event which is scheduled to end on March 6 in Washington where participants will meet with “a congressional welcome committee to discuss policy changes.”
“They don’t want to deal with these mandates and it’s kind of a way to stand up for all the American people against it,” a spokesperson for the PAC said of the American truckers.
All of the project’s routes are slated to begin in the early days of March.
Another effort dubbed “The People’s Convoy” is set to start in California on February 23rd, according to Newsweek.

A ‘Freedom Convoy’ of American truckers would represent a sort of baton passing from the amazing patriots that have held firm against government overreach in Canada for weeks now.
Unfortunately, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has invoked ’emergency powers’ designed to combat terrorism in order to crack down on the peaceful protesters, allowing him to clear vehicles by having them towed and even freezing the bank accounts of protesters.
On Thursday, Canadian “Freedom Convoy” leader Tamara Lich was arrested by police in Ottawa according to various online reports.

Lich should be brought to trial. She posted a video hours before the arrest anticipating what was coming but noting she is “ready” and “not afraid.”
Canadian trucker clearing-out has been accelerated by Ottawa police arresting protestors and clearing the streets.
According to reports, the police have arrived at the scene and escorted the drivers of the tow trucks. They then began to work on removing the vehicles, campsers and other equipment.

Some protesters obeyed orders from police while others blared their horns or were heard singing ‘Amazing Grace’ outside the prime minister’s office, according to Fox News.
“Some protesters are surrendering and are being arrested. We ask protesters to remain peaceful and lawful,” Ottawa police said in an alert.
Nicholas Street has a significant police presence. All protesters are advised to evacuate immediately. Some demonstrators are surrendering to police and being detained. We appeal to protesters not to disrupt the law and remain peaceful.

The Canadian Trucker Crackdown continues, but journalists have been banned from the region and are unable to witness or report on the current events.
Media personnel in the vicinity should remain at a safe distance. Anybody found in areas that are under enforcement could be arrested. A media meeting will take place at 474 Elgin Street later today. #ottnews

American Convoy Support
A new Rasmussen Reports poll indicates Americans strongly side with the ‘Freedom Convoy’ and would support a similar effort on this side of the border.
The survey shows 59 percent of respondents support the convoy, including 42 percent who “strongly support” it.
Americans are more likely to believe that truckers living in America should set up their own efforts by a 57%-35% margin.

Rand Paul from Kentucky supports such an effort.
“I’m all for it,” he said. “Civil disobedience is a time-honored tradition in our country, from slavery to civil rights to you name it. Peaceful protest, clog things up, make people think about the mandates.”
“I hope the truckers do come to America,” says @RandPaul. “I hope they clog up cities.”
