A majority of Americans – mostly Republicans and Independents – would stay and fight if an invasion similar to that taking place in Ukraine happened here in the United States.
The majority of Democrats claim they would leave the country.
Quinnipiac University has released a poll that shows this.
The polling firm presented this hypothetical situation: “As the world witnesses what is happening in Ukraine, Americans were asked what they would do if they were in the same position as Ukrainians are now: stay and fight or leave the country?”
Overall, a majority of Americans – 55 percent – said they would stay and fight to defend their country. Only 38% said that they planned to leave.
Problems arise when political parties are broken down.
“A majority of Americans (57 percent) think the steps that the Biden administration has taken to punish Russia for the invasion of Ukraine are not tough enough, while 29 percent say they are about right, and 3 percent say they are too tough.” https://t.co/ZpsLHC4sCR

The Quinnipiac Poll’s answers are broken down by party and quite interesting.
According to the poll, 68% would fight and remain in the country while 25% would go. By a margin of 57 to 36 percent, Independents will fight rather than flee.
Democrats however would not leave.
The poll found that 52 percent would flee their country if invaded, while only 40 percent would say they’d stay to fight.
Different majorities of Republicans, Independents and Democrats believe they would remain and fight if in the exact same situation as today’s Ukrainians. The majority of Democrats believe they would quit. https://t.co/ZKwMkI6hXJ

Americans would fight
Granted Republican voters would seemingly be doing the bulk of the fighting, but it’s nice to know Americans overall would stay and fight for their country if a military invasion took place.
“When confronted with a terrible hypothetical that would put them in the shoes of the Ukrainians, Americans say they would stand and fight rather than seek safety in another country,” Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy said.

Former President Donald Trump’s son had his own analysis of the poll numbers showing Democrats would flee if under attack like Ukraine.
“No one should be surprised that the majority of Dems wouldn’t fight for their country if invaded,” he tweeted. “They’ll just move to the communist utopia of their choosing and find out what it’s like the hard way.”
Democrats are hostile to America. Anyone who has been following their policies should see this. No one should be surprised that the majority of Dems wouldn’t fight for their country if invaded. They’ll just move to the communist utopia of their choosing and find out what it’s like the hard way. https://t.co/EvV3eq6TVE

According to the same survey, nearly half (49%) of Americans feel anxious about the unfolding events in Ukraine.
The survey also shows Americans disapprove of President Biden’s response to Russia by a 45-42% margin, a slight improvement from a week ago.
Overall, 51 percent disapprove of Biden’s job performance as President while a paltry 38 percent approve.
