A woman’s purse is much more than just a stylish accessory. It carries her private necessities. As it relates to private necessities, self-care should be reflected within a woman’s purse. If you’re in the position where you’re stuck somewhere and need to spend the night, it’s important to have the right necessities in order to navigate the transition. In order to make sure that you’re always cared for when you have your purse nearby, consider the following items you’ll need to carry.
Sunscreen
Sunscreen is a lot like lip balm in that it needs to be reapplied regularly. The sun emits ultraviolet rays that can damage the skin and cause skin cancer. By keeping a small bottle of sunscreen or sunscreen mist, you’ll be able to effortlessly tend to your skin throughout the day, protect it from premature aging, and keep skin cancer at bay.
Face & Body Cleanser
Whether you’re heading to the gym or preparing to spend the night with your special someone, always carry cleansers to make sure you remain fresh and clean. It doesn’t really matter what skin type you have. You don’t want to use too many random cleansers from other sources. When you carry your own cleansers, you’ll always be royal and prepared for any situation that requires clean-up.
Nail Clipper
If you break a nail, need to tend your nails on the go, or cut a string off of your dress, a nail clipper comes in handy. While it’s ideal to manage all of your nail care needs within the confines of a nail salon, there will be times when you break a nail or need to quickly tend to your nail beds. By having a nail clipper on hand, you’ll be able to make sure your nails look presentable and professional at all times.
Lip Balm
It’s so important to reapply lip balm throughout the day. This is in order to prevent dry, chapped lips. Lip balm is more important than lipstick or lip gloss. When your lips look moisturized and healthy, you don’t need lipstick to conceal anything. If anything, lipstick will only enhance your look. Unfortunately, if your lips are dry, cracked, and chapped, lipstick and lipgloss are unable to do anything to conceal that. While it’s nice to keep a great tube of lipstick on hand, always make sure your lip balm is in your bag.
Napkins
If you need to quickly clean up a mess, fix your makeup or wipe your hands after a messy meal, it’s always nice to have napkins close by. You don’t need to keep a huge amount. However, you can purchase a small pouch of napkins or tissues that are easy to access when you need them.
Feminine Products
Whether you prefer to use tampons or pads, make sure you have the necessary protection in case you’re somewhere and your period starts sooner than expected. If you’re using a public restroom and are concerned about the smell you’re releasing, pack a small potpourri spray that you can use in order to lessen (or in some cases, conceal) the impact.
Hair Kit
Whether you have a hair out of place or need to pull your hair up in a bun, it’s nice to have a small hair kit on hand for emergencies. Purchase a small version of your favorite hair gel, hairspray, and leave-in conditioner. You might even consider packing a small version of your shampoo and conditioner in case you need to spend the night somewhere. Pack a couple of bobby pins and a few scrunchies to pull your hair into place.
Moisturizer
If you’ve ever tried to use water as an acceptable replacement for a moisturizer, you know how miserably it will fail the test. There’s nothing worse than being ashy and unable to do anything about it. There are plenty of moisturizers on the market that come in travel-size forms. Always pack a gentle yet rich moisturizer that is easy to use on both your face and your body.
You don’t necessarily need to have a large tote bag with you in order to carry all of your necessities. In fact, most of these items don’t need to take up a ton of space. However, if you’re intentional about making sure you’re well prepared for any situation, carry these items in your purse. They’ll make sure that you’re presentable and cared for at all times.
