Seattle Police are seeking a Seattle ride-share driver a woman claims sexually assaulted her for hours inside a Capitol Hill apartment on Sunday.

In an SPD blotter police report the woman in her 20s told investigators she was picked up in Capitol Hill on Sunday afternoon. The driver cancelled her ride and told her she would not be charged, according to police, and then allegedly took her to an apartment in the 1700 block of Summit Avenue, “where he raped her for several hours until she was able to get away.”

The woman contacted police on Monday, and SPD and the ride-share company are now working with the victim to confirm the identity of the driver, according to SPD. The department is not currently releasing the name of the ride-share company the suspect was operating with.

SPD states it is warning passengers to be aware of any attempts to cancel a ride while they’re in a vehicle and to ensure the vehicle and driver match the notifications sent by the ride-share companies.
