Wealthy Democrat Donor Arrested On Child Porn Charges

Eliot Cutler was a Carter Administration official who is now an Independent Maine candidate for governor. He was charged with possessing child pornography.

Cutler was detained late last Wednesday and is facing four charges of possessing unlawful sexually explicit material for a minor below 12.

Maine State Police were tipped off to Cutler’s alleged activity by The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who reported in December that someone had either downloaded or uploaded a single illegal image.

From that point on, the alleged crimes took place until March.

Cutler spent one evening in Hancock County Jail. He was released upon posting $50,000 bail. He will appear before a Hancock County court on May 3rd.

Eliot Cutler Arrest

Eliot Cutler was a successful environmental lawyer, who served as a Democratic senator Ed Muskie’s legal counsel and also worked under former President Jimmy Carter.

Under the Carter administration, he served as part of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget and was the top White House official for energy matters from 1977 to 1980, according to Mainebiz News.

Cutler was also an Independent candidate in Maine for governor in 2010, 2014, and 2010. He narrowly lost the 2010 election to Republican Paul LePage in a multi-candidate race.

The Maine GOP tweeted out a screenshot of some of Eliot Cutler’s donations which include monies to President Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama, and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Cutler has received many pledges from the beneficiaries to either return the money or to donate it to them.

Maine’s incumbent governor, Democrat Janet Mills, forwarded the funds to the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

Other Maine politicians like Independent Senator Angus King or Democrat Rep. Jared Golden also donated funds to charities.

Hancock County District Attorney Matt Foster suggested that the four charges against Eliot Cutler might just be the tip.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if more charges were on the way,” Foster told the Associated Press.

Cutler was also a member of the Lerner Foundation’s board. He resigned as the investigation into his home and search of it continued. This foundation helps rural Maine students get into college.

“We were deeply disturbed to learn about the serious accusations brought against Eliot Cutler today,” a statement from the group’s Executive Director reads.

“In his former role on the Board of Directors, Eliot was involved in high-level strategy and governance and did not directly interface with students who participated in grant-funded programming,” the statement continues.

Ed Buck was also a donor for Democratic causes. He was found guilty of injecting methamphetamine into men to obtain sex and causing two deaths.

Since 2000, Buck has donated over $500,000 in donations to Democrat politicians including Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and Barack Obama.

His sentencing will see him facing an obligatory minimum of 20 year imprisonment, and a maximum life sentence.
