In the latest installment of the Democrats’ favorite game, “Do As I Say, Not As I Do,” yet another member of the far-left ‘Squad’ has revealed that she believes that well, quite frankly, her safety is more important than yours.
Last year’s quarterly Statement of Disbursements, which tracks office spending by Members of Congress, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) is shown to have spent tens of thousands of dollars in taxpayer money on her own private security.
Yet, he is a vocal advocate for defunding police.

Safety: The Price
The Daily Caller combed through the Statement of Disbursements, noting that between May and December 2021, Pressley spent $63,000 on “security service” from what is called the Members’ Representational Allowance (MRA).
The MRA is basically the budget every office receives for spending on official duties – items like staff salaries, office supplies, official travel, etc.

The Daily Caller notes that while the records show the “security service” payments are directed to the House of Representatives Financial Administrator, to exactly whom the money ultimately went is unknown.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R.NY) called Pressley, her team mates and for the blatant double standard.
“Ayanna Pressley and her fellow Squad members have repeatedly called for our police to be defunded while simultaneously paying top dollar for their own private security with taxpayer funds. All the while, our cities are experiencing an increase in violent crime. Pressley, the Squad and others want police to be there for them. But not for us. Democrats are the party for elitist hypocrites, and they want to defund the police. The American people know this, and that is why this November there will be a red tsunami.”
#DefundPoliceChampion, Rep. AyannaPressley has spent tens of thousands on taxpayer-funded private security. It seems that police only are racist when she isn’t being protected. 🤔https://t.co/Va8V7OKzS5

Squad Members Show a Great Deal of Hypocrisy
Although Democrats are known for their hypocrisy, Squad took it to the next level. And Rep. Pressley is certainly not the first of the far-left crew to put her “ok for me but not for thee” attitude on full display.
Cori Bush, a Democratic Representative from Missouri (D-MO), was probably the most apologetic of the bunch and seemed the most entitled to private security. Last August, in an interview with CBS News, when asked about a possible double standard being waved about, Bush asked, “They would rather I die? Would you rather I die? Is that what you want to see?”
This was only the beginning. Bush then declared, “I have private security because my body is worth being on this planet.” Bush also stated that whether she spent $70,000 or $200,000, it was worth the cost because, “I get to be here to do the work.”
But the cherry on the cake of Bush’s self-unawareness was this, “So suck it up. Defunding police forces is a must. We need to defund the police and put that money into social safety nets.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is perhaps the most financially responsible of all the Squad members. Back in August of 2021, Ocasio-Cortez spent a paltry $4,636 to a private security firm called Tullis Worldwide Protection for “security services.”

President Breaks With ‘Defund The Police’ Crowd During SOTU
While Ayanna Pressley and the rest of the Squad refuse to back down from their “defund the police” narrative, the majority of Democrats are well aware that this idea is not playing well, especially in an election year, and are attempting to distance themselves from the slogan.
During his recent State of the Union address, President Joe Biden stated, “We should all agree: The answer is not to defund the police. It’s to fund the police. Finance them. Finance them. Fund them with resources and training.”
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in a recent appearance with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, quoted Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY), who described defund the police as “dead.”
When Stephanopoulos referred to the position of Bush, Pelosi replied, “That’s not the position of the Democratic Party, with all due respect to Cori Bush. Community safety to protect and defend in every way is our oath of office.”
It would be fascinating to see which side wins the tug-of-war against the police defunding in November.
Hypocrite. Citizens don’t deserve police but she deserves private security at their expense. https://t.co/yE3TUJTXHr via @dailycaller
