Ju’Zema Goldring was awarded $1.5 Million by a Federal Court in the lawsuit Goldring filed against Atlanta’s city and officers Vladimir Henry and Juan Restrepo. Goldring was stopped for jaywalking by the two, and she was then taken into police custody in 2015. She was charged with drug possession after Juan Restrepo and Vladimir Henry alleged that Goldring’s stress ball Goldring contained drugs. Goldring was held in prison for six months before the contents were tested by prosecutors. The results came back negative. Goldring says officers did field tests and also reported the negative results as positive. These tests, according to the police department were false positives.
