Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian president, tweeted that he will give arms to anyone “who wants to defend our country.” Ukraine is the European only country in which firearms aren’t regulated through statutes. Even in peacetime, Ukrainians were allowed to carry non–fully automatic rifles and shotguns as long as they were stored when not in use.
Biden declared at the 2022 State of the Union speech, “And folks ban assault weapons high-capacity magazines capable of holding up to one hundred rounds.” Are you assuming that the deer are sporting Kevlar vests?”
Yes, it is, however, hunting isn’t the sole purpose of a gun. We are reminded by the terrible war in Ukraine that our right to bear arms remains a safeguard against tyranny.
