After an aide claimed that he took inappropriate photographs of a Nebraska senator without her permission and sent them to other people, a Nebraska state senator has now resigned. Mike Groene acknowledged taking the photographs, but claimed none were of a sexual nature. Groene said that he would resign in order to protect his family. Groene was due to be out of the legislature by next year’s term limits. As he stated previously, he won’t run for the University of Nebraska Board of Regents this year.
