Tiffany Davis’s family has filed a lawsuit against Muskegon County Michigan Sheriff Michael Poulin as well as other parties alleging that Davis died due to inadequate medical care provided while Davis was held in prison for violating her probation. After Davis began experiencing headaches, seizures, vomiting, both her cellmate as well her mother said she asked officials in jail to bring her to the hospital. The ambulance was not called by the jail until the following day. The brain hemorhages she suffered from an infection caused her death five days later. An attorney for the family received $2.4 million from the county in a settlement. This was to compensate the family of the victim, who had suffered seizure-like symptoms while being held at the jail.
