Nadine Dorries, British Culture Secretary, said that the government was working on legislation to restrict streaming services’ ability to show comedy some might find offensive. After some outrage over Jimmy Carr’s Netflix special, her remarks were made. Carr stated that people often talk about Holocaust but only the suffering of 6 million Jews who died in the hands of Nazis, not about the thousands of innocent gypsies killed. He jokingly said, “No one wants to talk about it.” Because no one wants to discuss the positives.” Dorries claimed previously that left-wing snowflakes were killing comedy. Dorries responded to the question by saying that Carr’s joke wasn’t comedy.
