Newt Gingrich Says Some Members Of January 6 Committee Could Face Jail Time – Cheney, Kinzinger Fire Back

Newt Gingrich asserts that some members of the January 6 committee investigating last year’s Capitol riot could be facing jail time if Republicans win back the House.

Maria Bartiromo from Fox News made the remarks during a weekend interview.

Bartiromo referred back to an op ed Gingrich published for Newsweek. In it, he argued overreach by Democrats would result in retaliation on the part of the GOP if the House is regained during the midterm election.

In it, he mentioned not only President Biden’s blatant racial attacks on his political opponents and the Attorney General’s astonishing pursuit of some parents in America as ‘domestic terrorists,’ but the committee investigating the Capitol riot.

Gingrich insists that investigating the investigators of the select committee isn’t about revenge for them politically, but justice for those the committee is trying to destroy.

“This is about reinforcing the principle that in America, political wolves who viciously destroy their fellow Americans—and violate the rule of law to do so—will not be tolerated,” he said, noting that many Trump supporters targeted by the committee are facing “financial ruin” and “psychological stress.”

Newt Gingrich Slams the January 6th Committee

Newt Gingrich elaborated on the notion that Republicans should assert themselves after midterms, and take over an out of control resistance party to blur the lines in pursuit of political opponents.

He even suggested to some that they should go to jail themselves for the wild pursuit of Jan 6 rioters.

“I think when you have a Republican Congress, this is all going to come crashing down,” Gingrich said. “And the wolves are going to find out that they’re now sheep and they’re the ones who are in fact, I think, face a real risk of jail for the kinds of laws they’re breaking.”

Gingrich added that he views the House select committee as “people who are literally just running over the law” and “pursuing innocent people.”

Gingrich argues in his Newsweek column that 90 percent must be devoted to positive actions for American prosperity and peace.

But, he adds, “House Republicans owe it to the defense of the Constitution, our freedoms and the integrity of the House” to go after any “agency that has threatened innocent Americans in an effort to censor and destroy those Americans’ political views.”

Cheney, Kinzinger Respond

Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, two Republicans who have recently devoted their lives to worship at the alter of the Capitol riot, naturally took umbrage with Gingrich’s analysis.

“A former Speaker of the House is threatening jail time for members of Congress who are investigating the violent January 6 attack on our Capitol and our Constitution,” she tweeted.

“This is what it looks like when the rule of law unravels.”

It is true that rule of law crumbles when leftists loot, burn, and pillage major American cities, and then suddenly you become Judge Dredd along with a few rioters. However, the overwhelming majority of those protesting on January 6 included peaceful seniors.

Kinzinger, meanwhile, continued his uninterrupted streak of making himself look like the RINO version of AOC – intellectually vapid and having to resort to memes to make an argument.

In an effort to grab the attention of Squad-loving voters with low information, the soon-to be-former Republican congressman uploaded a GIF taken from Billy Madison.

Kinzinger’s fear of facing jail for his witch hunt is making him almost numb to the idea.

Well, he’s not as riled up as when he declared his service on the committee to be the equivalent of the way Todd Beamer and the passengers of Flight 93 fought back against terrorists on 9/11, but he’s still pretty fired up.

You have to admire Kinzinger’s use of uber-edgy GIFs and tough guy responses to people knowing full-well we all saw him crying like a pre-teen girl who just broke up with her boyfriend at the first Capitol riot hearing.
