Pelosi Leads Democrats In Candlelight Vigil For ‘Heroes’ On Capitol Steps

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a candlelight vigil on the Capitol steps along with other Democrats to honor the “heroes” of the Capitol who “lost their lives and sacrificed” on January 6.

“On behalf of the distinguished Democratic leader of the Senate, all of our colleagues from the House and Senate, we prayerfully mark one year since the insurrection, and patriotically honor the heroes who defended the Capitol and our democracy that day,” Pelosi said.

“Let us all here join in a moment of silence in memory of those who lost their lives and sacrificed so much for our democracy that day.”

Pelosi had earlier made comments about the violence, and he tried to paint it as fatal for officers.

Make no mistake – police were indeed injured, some very severely, during the riot. However, no police officers were hurt during the riot.

Pelosi may be trying to portray the events as more serious than they actually are, according to cynics.

Bloomberg News provides a support to her efforts. The news company claimed that four officers died “because of January 6th,” and even included a police officer – Billy Evans – who was killed months later by a Nation of Islam follower.

Pelosi had also mentioned Evans in her remarks, with a footnote that Evans died “of a later assault.” That part of her speech is in the video below.

Pelosi’s Prayer Vigil for Capitol Officers

Nancy Pelosi’s efforts to lump together as many Capitol police officers into her moment of silence and prayer vigil is in line with how Democrats have portrayed the event.

However, while all four officers referenced by Pelosi protected the Capitol during their service, none were killed on January 6th.

  • Officer Brian Sicknick died of a stroke the day after the riot and his death was ruled by “natural” causes and not “hastened by an injury.”
  • Jeffrey Smith, Officer, died January 15, from suicide.
  • Howard Liebengood committed suicide on January 9.

The fourth officer, Billy Evans, died in April – three months after the Capitol riot – at the hands of a 25-year-old black nationalist and follower of the Nation of Islam.

An enticing display by any measure

During her prayer vigil Pelosi was joined at least 100 masked legislators, which included Senator Chuck Schumer (D–NY) and Senator Dick Durbin(D-IL).

The candlelight vigil contained fake candles and a guest singing “God Bless America.”

Clay Travis, a radio host mocked this event.

Pelosi, earlier in day, provided a truly cringe-worthy moment when Hamilton cast sang via Zoom call.

Keep in mind while watching this – It is real, and it is spectacular.

Remember that four deaths occurred in total DuringThe Capitol Riot, however, was only witnessed by Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran who is also an avid Trump supporter, and unarmed. killed.

A Capitol officer killed her.

Babbitt didn’t get any recognition during the prayer-vigil. The cast of Hamilton didn’t sing for her.

Kamala Harris had earlier in the day compared the Capitol Riot to the tragedy of Pearl Harbor or 9/11.
