Investigative findings revealed that Rathnayake was denied medical care for several months by the staff. Rathnayake lost 44 lbs during the seven-months she was held in detention for violating her visa. YasunoriMatsui is Yasunori’s director. He said that Rathnayake repeatedly asked officials to give Rathnayake a conditional or hospital release. This would allow her supporter to get the medical attention she needed. His requests for explanation were not granted. The investigation’s results were published and the director of the facility was reprimanded along with other high-ranking officials.
