Brickbat: That's Not Equality

Patanjali Kambhampati (a professor of chemistry at McGill University in Montreal) applied for a grant from the Natural Science and Engineering Council of Canada. The council told  Kambhampati “the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion considerations in the application were deemed insufficient.” A second request for funding from the government was turned down by Kambhampati last year.  On the application, he wrote that he would hire “the most qualified people according to their skills and common interests.”  Before they could be reviewed by scientists, both grants were denied.
