Condemnation of Congress

Mark Meadows was just one of many former Trump officials who told the committee to pound sand. Steve Bannon, former Trump advisor, stated that he will not cooperate with this committee.

He was charged in the following cases: one for defying a subpoena, and another related to producing documents as requested by the committee.

The Meadows lawyer stated in a statement that Meadows gave in and had agreed to give information to CNN.

Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-MS), chairman of the Committee spoke out about possible contempt charges against Meadows.

“The Select Committee expects all witnesses, including Mr. Meadows, to provide all information requested and that the Select Committee is lawfully entitled to receive. The committee will continue to assess his degree of compliance with our subpoena after the deposition.”

It’s possible they may have picked the wrong guy in Bannon

Although Mark Meadows appears to be a gentle and cooperative person, it is possible that they have had too much to eat with Steve Bannon.

Bannon, who was indicted for contempt and obstruction of Congress, surrendered to Washington, D.C.’s FBI office last month. Bannon refused to obey a subpoena. He cited executive privilege.

Bannon, a well-known conservative firebrand and ally of President Trump, declared war: “I’m telling you right now, this is going to be the misdemeanor from hell for Merrick GarlandNancy Pelosi and Joe Biden. … We’re going on the offense. They took on the wrong guy this time; they took on the wrong guys.”

Political ‘Witch Hunt’ For Trump Allies

Commentators on the right have described the committee as a witch hunt, so far dozens of people have been subpoenaed.

Bannon and Meadows were also present. Former Trump advisor Stephen Miller, former White House Chief of Staff Christopher Liddell and Keith Kellogg were called before the committee.

Kayleigh McEnany (ex-White House Press Secretary) is another name on the subpoenas list.

In connection with Jan. 6 violence at the Capitol, approximately 35 Trump government members were subpoenaed to testify by the Jan. 6 committee.
