Ilhan Omar Responds To Being Called ‘Jihad Squad Member’ By Boebert, Calls Republican’s Husband A ‘Pervert’

Representative Ilhan Omar responded to recent attacks from Lauren Boebert by saying the Colorado Republican “defecated” Congress and called Boebert’s husband a “pervert.”

All of humanity must look at Congress’ current situation amused and bewildered.

The fiery exchange began following Boebert’s speech on the floor of the House in which she referred to Omar as a “Jihad Squad member,” joked about Omar’s unproven but rumored marriage to her brother, and pointed out her history of corrupt campaign dealings.

“The Jihad Squad member from Minnesota has paid her husband, and not her brother-husband, the other one, over $1 million in campaign funds,” Boebert said. “This member is allowed on the Foreign Affairs Committee while praising terrorists.”

She was pointing to the difference between Republicans like Paul Gosar (AZ), being held responsible for their antics, and Democrats who seem to get away with it.

The House censured Gosar and took him out of his assigned committees over the parody video.

Omar Fires Back

Omar responded to Boebert’s comments in an almost ‘I know you are, but what am I’ fashion.

She shared the video of her colleague’s speech on social media and began her response with, “Luckily my dad raised me right.”

Omar then called Boebert an “insurrectionist who sleeps with a pervert.”

“I am grateful I was raised to be a decent human and not a deprived person who shamefully defecated [and] defiles the House of Representatives,” she added.

Omar’s jab at Boebert’s husband appears to refer to a 2004 arrest for exposing himself to two women at a bowling alley.

The House Is Being Defiled

I’m not going to investigate the ‘defecating’ claim, but Omar has most assuredly defiled the House with her history of anti-Semitic, anti-American commentary.

A trio of House Republicans in June introduced a resolution seeking to censure Omar and other members of the ‘Squad’ for comments backing “the actions of a recognized terrorist organization.”

Minnesota Democrat, a Democrat, was at that time accused of equating Israel and the U.S. with the Taliban and Hamas terror groups. She denied the accusation.

Omar’s censure, unlike Gosar’s, went nowhere, the exact point Boebert was trying to make.

Apart from the incident, Squad member also has an extensive history of antisemitic remarks including:

  • Tweeting “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”
  • Said that Jewish lawmakers “have allegiance to a foreign country” regarding their support for Israel.
  • Tweeting that US support for Israel was “all about the Benjamins” and when she was asked what she meant, she responded “AIPAC!”
  • Shared a cartoon that even her Democrat colleagues called out as “vile” and “anti-Semitic.”
  • She compared Israel to Iran.

Nancy Pelosi was not censured for these actions.

And ignoring that pattern would later lead to Omar retweeting a video filmed by the International Solidarity Movement, a Palestinian organization that was probed by the FBI for ties to terrorism.

Kevin McCarthy, House Minority leader, stated that Omar would be removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee post if Republicans win the House in 2022.

“If we are fortunate enough to have the majority, Omar would not be serving on Foreign Affairs, or anybody that has an anti-Semitic, anti-American view,” he said.

It will be time to see if this is more than just a threat.
