Lithuanian Shares a Glimpse of Life Without a COVID Passport in His Homeland: Freedom Is Gone

Below are a collection of tweets that Gluboco Lietuva (Lithuania) posted.  His experience as an ex-patriot in Lithuania is shared by him and his wife, who refuse to undergo the COVID vaccination.  All freedom has been taken away by the authorities.

My wife and me are exiled from society because we have no Covid Pass.
There is no income. Cannot shop.
We will not tolerate authoritarianism.
Here’s how life looks after one month in Lithuania, under Europe’s first strict,society-wide Covid Pass regime:
1

For 4 weeks, my wife and me were both suspended without pay.
We can’t return to our jobs.
Our employers are not likely to let us go back.
Our colleagues hate us and wish for our deaths on social media, even if it was true. We can’t erase it. We can’t work there.

We can’t find new jobs in our professions.
Both my wife and I work in different areas. All jobs within our respective fields require the Covid Pass.
No Pass, no job.

We’re not allowed to buy food in the local supermarket.
We may only shop in small stores with street-facing entrances which mainly sell food,pharma,glasses/contacts, or farming/pet supplies.
This effectively restricts us to a small and expensive convenience store in our locality.

The Pass is a tyrant for the free market.
The Pass is required by supermarkets. They report that shoppers have been down 25% since Pass was implemented.
But in the small stores where the Pass isn’t required, it’s up only 0.7%.
Where have all the shoppers gone?

5/

Food is now bought in Soviet-style markets. Produce, eggs, cheese, meat, fish. Only cash. Cash only.
It’s not as easy as shopping at a supermarket. It works, at least for the moment. The good news is that life has its way.6/Image

I have to repair my home. But without a Pass, I can’t enter the hardware store to buy supplies.
I can’t call for a repair worker because repairs are banned for non-Pass holders. And, of course, there is no money to help me pay for any outside services.
So our home stays unrepaired.

We went to the dentist we’ve attended for years for an appointment for one of my children, but had to leave because I don’t have a Covid Pass.
Our area has no dentist who will accept us. We’ve heard of dentists who treat people with no Pass, but they’re far. So no dental care.

Our kids tried to purchase art supplies from a crafts store. A Pass is required to make any purchase.

In a toy shop, we tried to purchase educational toys. We were denied entry.

Can’t buy kitchen supplies. Although it’s helpful, frustrating.

9/

We attempted to get some paper printed in a local copy shop. Without a Pass, the staff denied us access to their services.

We can’t enter the library to browse books with our kids. That used to be one of our family’s greatest pleasures. But we’re not allowed any more because we don’t have a Covid Pass.

10/

Our two kids outgrew/destroyed last winter’s clothes.
Then we tried to get new ones. Many stores refused to sell us new ones because we had no Pass.
Finally,my pregnant wife begging, tears in her eyes; a manager at a second-hand store relented: “Just this once,ok? Can’t let you people in here again.”

11.

It is easy to feel pressured into submission.
And it’s overwhelming. Our survival ability has been destroyed.
No matter how much suffering we endure and what hardships it causes, we won’t accept the Covid pass’s descent into authoritarianism.

12.

To enter shops, use QR code
Covid Pass must work
To buy food, toys, or clothes, you need to get approval from the government.
Number No. No.
The Covid Pass regime of government segregation and control – punishing undesired behavior with banishment from society – is the path to authoritarianism.

13.

Covid vaccinations first came out of education, trust, informed consent, and the belief that targeted groups could be vaccinated.
In 2021, however, the policy had changed: trust and choice were replaced with coercion or punishment.
You’ve shredded trust in public health for generations.14.Image
To exist in society, government approval is required. Banning based upon arbitrary rules. Recording of all people’s movements.
That’s not health; it’s control and power.
As bureaucrats try to extend their power, the new control of authority will ban more behaviors.15/Image

Like many cases in history, our slide towards authoritarian control in 2021 – in Europe and throughout the world – has fueled, and been fueled by, hatred and othering which is encouraged by government and stoked by the media.
And it’s ripping our society apart.

16/

Segregation. Blame for diseases. Incitement to wartime treachery. Incitement. Persecution.
This is not history. For my family, this is how life will be in 2021.
All of humanity is gone.
It is wrong.
This is so profoundly, deeply wrong.17.Image

Our winter is dark and cold. My wife and I don’t have savings to last til spring.
However, we decided that despite all the hardship, resistance was our only moral choice. Our children should feel proud of us and not disdain towards us.
We must protect freedom because it is fragile. We are the only ones who can defend freedom.

18.

We have already suffered so much from you. This winter, you plan to cause us more pain.
However, this is what you need to know:
Your Covid Pass will not be accepted.
We are against segregation, control and hate.
We won’t accept any descent into authoritarianism.

19/

Even if you want to stop earning your living, we won’t stop you.
You can still buy food and clothes, but we won’t ban it.
We don’t love you even if we hate you.
You can’t banish me, but we won’t banish you.
We don’t want you to die, even if we wish you did.20/Image

We will defend your rights when it is time, which will inevitably come, and you are expelled by the arbitrarily increasing rules of the new authorityitarianism.
We are all one.
All of us have equal rights to be in the society.
