The investigation into Lance Corporal Hunter Clark’s appearance at the rally in support of former President Donald Trump is currently underway.
Task & Purpose describes Clark as one of nearly 6,000 U.S. troops charged with defending the airport in Kabul as civilians were desperately trying to flee the Taliban-controlled country of Afghanistan.
Trump seemed to be informed by the Marine that he was the one who lifted a child over the wall and brought him safety amid the chaos. He introduced him to them as such.
Clark amended it further by making this claim.
“I am the guy that pulled the baby over the wall and it’s definitely probably one of the greatest things I’ve ever done in my entire life,” he said.

Marines at Trump Rally Under Investigation
A Marine bragging about his work raised eyebrows quickly and Hunter Clark was subject to fact-checking from the Corps.
In fact, a spokesman for the Marine Corps issued a statement saying: “Regarding the viral photo that began circulating around August 20, 2021, the Marine identified in that particular image was not LCpl Clark.”

Clark is currently under investigation after he attended a rally.
“The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) has initiated a command investigation regarding LCpl Hunter Clark’s attendance at the event last weekend to determine if any DoD policies were violated,” the spokesman added.
For active-duty military personnel, it is usually forbidden to hold political gatherings.
A 16-day old baby was handed to an American Marine at Kabul Airport. This image became the symbol of Afghanistan’s evacuation.

Kabul Baby Safe
Although the Marine who attended the Trump rally might not have been that man who saved the baby at Kabul Airport on the day of the incident, the child is now safe and living with his family in Arizona. You can find more information atMarine.
The baby’s name is Liya, and her father told Arizona Family details about her escape, an escape that helped capture and symbolized the desperation of those trying to survive and escape Afghanistan.
“That day I handed over my baby to a total stranger. The only thing I trusted is that he was a Marine and that my daughter would be safe,” he explained.
Amazing quote from the father who handed his daughter to Marines in Kabul: “That day I handed over my baby to a total stranger, but the only thing I trusted was that he was a Marine, and my daughter will be fine.” They got out and they’re going to make her middle name “Marine.” pic.twitter.com/BUfwA7VFDt

Liya’s father hopes to one day meet the actual Marine who pulled his baby to safety.
“Oh my God. I’d give him a hug. He literally saved my daughter’s life,” he said.
A Marine who attended a Trump rally is being investigated, but another Marine has been sentenced to jail for criticizing the military leadership for their ineptitude in leading to Afghanistan’s desperate evacuations.
Marine Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller, a critic of the botched withdrawal, was sentenced to prison after posting scathing comments on social media about it.

On Thursday, dozens of Republican legislators wrote to the U.S. Marine Corps asking for Scheller’s release from pre-trial detention.
The Marine Corps assured that Scheller would be “afforded all due process.”
According to Daily Mail reports, the hearing was delayed to next week while his attorneys and Corps attempt to find a solution.
Consider what’s happening in Afghanistan. 13 military personnel were killed in the Afghanistan crisis. The drone strike left seven children dead and 13 service members were killed. This resulted to hundreds of Americans, Afghan allies and others being forced to fight the Taliban alone.
The only people currently being investigated are the Marines who were at a Trump rally, and another Marine who demanded leadership accountability.
