Olmsted panel stolen from water tower

An Olmsted interpretive panel showing the interrelationship of Seattle's water system with Seattle Parks and Recreation was stolen from the top of the water tower in Volunteer Park on Wednesday, July 24. The panel, which costs more than $5,000 and weighs about 50 pounds, was one of six panels about Seattle's Olmstead legacy that was on permanent exhibit. The Friends of Seattle's Olmsted Parks produced them in 1997, with sponsorship from the Capitol Hill Community Council.
