A man sleeping in a building entryway in the 500 block of Melrose Avenue East was stabbed in the neck with a pen early Thursday morning, according to Seattle Police, and the search for a suspect is ongoing.
Officers responded around 4 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, and provided the man with first aid to stop the bleeding. Seattle Fire medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center.
The suspect reportedly stabbed the man in the neck with a pen while he was sleeping in the enclosed entryway and the fled. Police report it is unknown what caused the confrontation that led to the stabbing.
