After opening their upscale pizza spot in September 2015, Ernest Loves Agnes owner Jason Lajeunesse and business partner Joey Burgess announced Tuesday the restaurant will close at the end of the month to make way for a new project.

The Guild Seattle group behind Lost Lake, Comet and Big Mario’s transformed the former Kingfish Café on 19th Avenue  into the fine Italian restaurant, its name originating from the romantic story of Ernest Hemingway’s love affair with a nurse he met in a Red Cross hospital in Italy during World War I.

“We will be serving our last dinner at Ernest Loves Agnes at the end of the month to make room for a wonderful new project,” said Lajeunesse in a news release statement. “We have loved serving our neighbors, and hope that you will join us for our last week of service, ending with our last night January 31, 2017.”

Lajeunesse declined to comment on the new project, the release stating that more details will be released in the coming weeks.
